|---|---|---|---|
| All eligible purchases | $2,500 | 1x | 2,500 pts / mo |
30,000 pts / year (~$300 in Avion portal travel, $180 net of $120 fee). ~1.00% effective return. If you meet the $60K personal income requirement, the Avion Visa Infinite earns 1.25x on travel purchases for the same annual fee.
Good fit if
- You want access to the Avion transfer network — British Airways Avios, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles — but don’t meet the $60K personal income requirement for the Visa Infinite.
- You want a strong opening bonus to seed a specific award. The current welcome offer of up to 70,000 points gives you a meaningful head start toward a business class transfer redemption.
- You want a single flat earn rate with no category tracking, and you bank with RBC, so keeping points within one relationship matters.
If that describes you, apply for the RBC Avion Visa Platinum. Not sure yet? Book a free conversation and we will walk through it together.
Less useful if
- You meet the $60K personal income requirement. The Avion Visa Infinite earns 1.25x on travel for the same $120 annual fee — a better return at no extra cost.
- You want high earn rates on everyday categories. At 1 pt/$1 across the board, the effective return is 1% at portal value — lower than grocery or gas-focused cards at this fee level.
- You want premium perks like lounge access. The Avion Visa Infinite Privilege includes Dragon Pass, though at a much higher fee.
